Software localization is one of the most important and widespread fields of localization industry as it is engaged in cultures's every day living, every country, every industry and every IT component structure.  As long as IT component is considered, software is there which needs to be available in all human languages.

In brief, software localization is the process of adapting a software product to the linguistic, cultural and technical requirements of a target market. This process is often requires a significant amount of time from the technical localisation teams.

Typically, the software localization process includes the following basic steps:

  • Hand Off analysis and evaluating of the tools and resources required for project.
  • Cultural and linguistic assessment.
  • Creating the project necessary terminology glossaries.
  • Translation to the target language.
  • Adaptation of the user interface, including resizing of forms and dialogs, as required.
  • Localization of graphics, scripts or other media containing visible text, symbols, etc.
  • Re-building of the localised files for testing.
  • LQA - Linguistic and functional quality assurance
  • Hand Back of the localized Project in its new target Language
